Hyderabad: Doctors' role in fake papers being probed

The arrest was based on a tip-off. On being questioned, Raj said he was providing the certificates with the help of hospital staff.

Hyderabad: A parking contractor, Kalakala Bharath Raj of Red Hills, was arrested by the city police for allegedly arranging medical fitness certificates reportedly signed by the doctors of Nampally government hospital by collecting Rs 500 to Rs 1,000 per certificate on Sunday. 

The arrest was based on a tip-off. On being questioned, Raj said he was providing the certificates with the help of hospital staff. 

Police said 173 medical certificates with doctors signatures were seized from Raj. The documents have been sent for tests to check if the doctors’ signature is genuine. Based on the report, further action will be taken,” said Habeebnagar inspector Madhukar Swamy. 

According to sources, four doctors of Nampally hospital are under police radar for issuing fake fitness certificate. Sources said their signature samples were being collected and sent for forensic tests
