Bengaluru: A 20-year-old youth was stabbed to death by unidentified bike-borne men in Hanumanth Nagar police station limits on Friday night.

The deceased has been identified as Bharath, a resident of Rajendra Nagar, and he hailed from Channapatna.

A week ago he was released from Parappana Agrahara Central Prison after serving his jail-term for a dacoity in Chamarajpete police station limits.

Police suspect an old rivalry to be the reason for murder.

The incident happened around 8:30 pm while Bharath returning home by foot.

Two unidentified bike-borne men intercepted him at Kalidasa Layout, stabbed Bharath on the middle of the road and fled.

A profusely bleeding Bharath was rushed to a nearby hospital, but he was declared brought dead. Hanumanth Nagar police rushed to the spot and conducted mahazar before registering a case.

The police have formed teams to nab the killers.
