Hyderabad: Uncle rapes 13-year-old girl

Hyderabad: A 13-year-old girl was raped by her paternal aunt’s husband in the Nizampet area. Following a complaint from the victim’s parents, the Bachupally police arrested the accused on Thursday.
Bachupally inspector, P. Jagadeeshwar said the family of the victim and the accused, all hailing from East Godavari, migrated to the city for livelihood.
The victim, who is the eldest daughter studying in eighth standard, was attending school along with her paternal aunt’s daughter and they used to visit each other’s’ houses frequently.
Inspector Jagadeeshwar said that about three months ago, accused Raavan (name changed) went to the victim’s house and started taking advantage of her loneliness, he raped her and also threatened to kill her if she revealed it to anyone.
Recently, when her parents found out that she was pregnant through a medical examination, they lodged a complaint with the police who arrested the accused on Thursday under sections of POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act, the inspector added.
