7 maoists held near Mumbai

All of them were booked under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act and sent to police custody until January 16.

Hyderabad: The Maharashtra Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) has arrested seven Telangana state-based Maoists from Kalyan in Thane district. 

The cadres hailed from Karimnagar and Nalg-onda districts were aged between 30 and 50 years.

On a tip-off, an ATS team detained a person for routine inquiry.

“As he was not giving satisfactory replies, he was taken into custody. On questioning he rev-ealed his colleagues were staying in Kam-rajnagar, Ambedkar-nagar and Vikhroli,” the ATS official said. 

They were working to spread their ideology.

All of them were booked under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act and sent to police custody until January 16.
