Bengaluru: Man sexually abuses daughter, on the run

Based on a complaint registered by the victim's mother, the police have booked him under Pocso Act and IPC sections.

Bengaluru: The Basavanagudi police have booked a 52-year-old man for sexually assaulting his 16-year-old daughter under the pretext of teaching sex education.

Based on a complaint registered by the victim’s mother, the police have booked him under Pocso Act and IPC sections. The accused whose name was withheld to protect minor’s identity, is currently absconding. The accused is an auto driver and father of five girls.

According to the police, the accused had been sexually abusing his second daughter, a class nine student, for two years and the issue only came to light recently when the girl opened up to her mother.

The father allegedly told her, “You are a girl and you must learn all these things which will help you when you get married.”

The accused threatened to kill her when she started objecting. He started to abuse her daily and she decided to open up to her mother.

She first warned him and when he did not stop, she informed her mother on November 23 and on the same day, her mother, caught him red handed at their residence.

He managed to escape from the spot and the mother immediately approached the police and filed a complaint.

The Banaswadi police have registered a case and are on lookout for him.
