Tamil Nadu: Mobile phones gutted in shop fire

The neighbors poured water on the showroom, even as fire services vehicle reached the spot within 20 minutes on put out the fire.

Pollachi: Cell phones worth over Rs 4 lakh rupees were gutted in a fire that broke out in a mobile phone showroom near Pollachi on Wednesday night.

According to police, Uvaraj 28 a resident of Ameer Saibu Street in Kotoor near Pollachi owns a mobile phone showroom in the market area. He left for home around 9-45 pm, but shortly later, locals noticed smoking emanating out of the locked showroom and alerted the Pollachi fire station and the local police.
