Life term to 4 in a murder case

Khammam: The Principal District and Sessions Court of Srinivasa Rao has awarded life imprisonment to four persons for killing their grandmother in a property dispute.

The court sentenced them under section IPC 302, read with 34. It examined 19 witnesses produced by the prosecution.

As per the prosecution, the four accused Boda Lalita, Boda Naresh,  Banothu Sathish and Azmeera Ramakoti attacked Maji and poured kerosene on the grandmother Ajmeera Maji, 70, and set her afire. She died while undergoing treatment.

The incident took place at Adivimaddulapalli in Karepalli mandal on August 5, 2015. The deceased’s daughter lodged a complaint in the police station and alleged that the four persons caused her death.

The deceased had given a death declaration in the presence of a magistrate before her death. The court sentenced the four to life imprisonment and ` 500 fine. A juvenile involved in the case was being tried by the juvenile court.
