Muslim League man cleared in Shibin case hacked to death

The IUML district committee alleged that the CPM was behind the murder.

Kozhikode: Muslim League worker Muhammed Aslam, 20, the third accused in the murder of DYFI activist  Shibin last year, was hacked to death on Friday evening. The attack took place around  5. 30 p.m. while Aslam, hailing from Velloor near Nadapuram, was riding  a bike.  He  was admitted to  a private hospital  here with  serious injuries and he died  by 9 p.m.  

The IUML district committee alleged that the CPM was behind the murder. DYFI worker C.K. Shibin, 19,  was hacked to death at Vellore, Thuneri in Nadapuram, allegedly by IUML workers on January 22, 2015. Aslam and 17 others accused in the  murder case were acquitted by the Special Additional Sessions Court (Marad cases) here on June 15.
