13 arrested in drive against ganja gangs

Vijayawada: Krishna district police have arrested 13 ganja peddlers and consumers in the limits of Kuchipudi and Hanuman Junction police stations. They seized 12kg of ganja, four mobile phones, a car and a motorcycle from them.

The accused were Parinkayala Srinivasa Rao of Pedapudi village, Bandi Kishore, Pavuluri Rakesh, Kommisetti Chandu Venkatesh of Pamarru, P Lakshmi Narayana of Vajrapukotturu of Srikakulam district, U. Srinivasa Rao of Visaka, Miriyala Sathish of Vadlapudi, D. Raju of Penumarthi and Sangireddy Rajesh of Gajuwaka.

Likewise, consumers Machavarapu Sai Veeraswamy, Dalanki Bhanu Prakash and Pathan Tayib of Pamaru have been arrested.

SP Joshuva said the police arrested eight persons in Kuchipudi and five in Hanuman Junction PS limits. The police were on special drives across the district against ganja gangs for the past 30 days. “We detained 62 accused in 20 cases and seized 60.535kg of ganja and three grams of MDMA.”
