Chennai: 60-year-old man held for threatening finance firm agents with airgun

According to the police, Sembarajan bought a BMW car with the financing of a private firm. However, he did not pay dues on time.

Chennai: The city police arrested a 60-year-old man who threatened three employees of a private finance firm with an airgun when they asked him to pay dues for a luxury car that he bought on loan.

The accused has been identified as Sembarajan (60), resident of Anna Nagar, runs an LPG agency Ambattur-Oragadam.

According to the police, Sembarajan bought a BMW car with the financing of a private firm. However, he did not pay dues on time.

“On Monday evening, three employees of the firm went to his house to ask him to pay the dues. But Sembarajan did not pay the dues and instead threatened them with a gun. The employees left the premises and informed their manager,” police said.

Based on a complaint by the manager of the financing firm, Thirumangalam police registered a case and arrested him. Investigation revealed that Sembarajan used an airgun to threaten them. However, he was booked under Arms Act and remanded in judicial custody on Tuesday.
