DRI Seizes Rs.6cr Worth Diamonds

Hyderabad: The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence nabbed two persons bound to Dubai at the Shamshabad airport and seized 5,569.64 carats of various qualities of diamonds, worth Rs.6.03 crore. They also seized Rs.1 lakh Indian currency and also foreign currency valued at Rs.9.8 lakh.

Based on specific intelligence, the passengers were intercepted near the boarding area, and a check of their baggage revealed diamonds which were lab grown, chemical vapour deposition and natural stones.
