Zambian National Sentenced to 10 Years in Heroin Smuggling Case

HYDERABAD: The Metropolitan Sessions Court of Rangareddy district sentenced a Zambian national to 10 years rigorous imprisonment and a Rs 1 lakh fine for smuggling 3.2 kg heroin, worth Rs 21 crore. She had been arrested on arrival at the Shamshabad airport in July 2021 by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI). She had travelled to Hyderabad from Zambia via Johannesburg and Doha, on a business visa.
