Bengaluru: Three held for cheating jewellery outlet

Bengaluru: The city police arrested three people for cheating a Jayanagar based jewellery shop owner by exchanging their fake gold coated jewellery with original ones.

The arrested have been identified as Santosh K. (27), a resident of J.P. Nagar, Sathyanarayana (26) a resident of Srinivas Nagar and Madhu V (26), a resident of J.P. Nagar. Police have seized 302 grams of gold jewellery and 64 grams of silver jewellery, totally worth Rs 9 lakh.

Police said the accused visited IMA Jewellers in Jayanagar and gave them glam collection ornaments, which is gold and silver coated jewellery, and taken 916 mark 22-carat gold jewelleries from the shop.

Police further added that the accused earlier used to work as sales executive at Reliance Jewels and they know about the glam collections. Police are also on the lookout for two more accused Nagesh and Harsha, who were earlier working as sales executives.

Police further added that Madhu was unemployed and the accused used him to exchange their gold coated jewellery with original gold.
