HYDERABAD: The Rajendranagar special operations team (SOT) arrested one Lingampally Anuradha and her two associates for peddling a variety of drugs in the city. It said they had busted a major racket that was supplying drugs from Goa.

Police said Anuradha had an MBA and had previously worked with a few private firms.

She would fly to Goa, procure drugs from a supplier identified as James, and return by road. Back home, she would hand the narcotics to Sanikommu Prabhakar Reddy, owner of a well-known tiffin centre, in Gachibowli, and Venkata Shiva Sai Kumar, also into the hotel business. They would sell the drugs to individual clients.  

Rajendranagar DCP R. Jagadishwar Reddy said that they had seized cocaine, ecstasy pills, MDMA crystals, equipment used to consume these drugs, and three vehicles used by the accused. They were intercepted near the ORR in Mokila police limits.

Police said they had secured the names of some peddlers and users and would be pursuing the leads.

Police said that the accused were friends and were substance abusers themselves. Anuradha had obtained the Goa dealer’s contact details from a neighbor, also a consumer.
