Two arrested for smuggling ganja from Andhra Pradesh

Hyderabad: Rachakonda police arrested two persons, Gundlapalli Shiva Reddy and Alugumalli Hanimi Reddy, for smuggling ganja from Andhra Pradesh to Hyderabad and seized the contraband and a vehicle used for transportation, all worth Rs 17 lakh, at Hayathnagar.

Another accused, Inala Narsaiah, is absconding, the police said.  Police said that to make quick money, they procured ganja from Visakhapatnam district at
Rs 5,000 per kg and planning to sell it for up to Rs 20,000 per kg in the city. They purchased 25 two-kg packets of ganja, loaded them in their vehicle and started for  Hyderabad. They were arrested late on Saturday night following a tip-off.
