Hyderabad: Investigations into the scam revolving around TSPSC question paper leak have revealed that more than 8,000 candidates, who have appeared for the Group I prelims, erred while bubbling in their OMR sheets.

The main accused, Pulidindi Praveen, aspiring for a police job following the footsteps of his father, was also among them. Thus connected, he reached out to fellow-aspirants, particularly women.

Praveen, with a degree in engineering, secured a job in the TSPSC on humanitarian grounds after the death of his father, who was serving the police department. Though he started working in the commission, he did not leave his dream of becoming a top police or prison official. Towards achieving his dream, he managed to procure the question papers illegally.

He also decided to make a fast buck by selling the question to other aspirants. He reportedly targeted women aspirants seeking sexual favours from them.

To some aspirants, including TSPSC employees, he and another accused A. Rajashekar gave the question paper for free, including Rajashekar’s brother-in-law Prashanth Reddy, a techie based in New Zealand.
