HYDERABAD: Kalapathar police arrested a four-member gang trying to circulate fake ‘Children’s Bank of India’ currency and seized counterfeit notes in Rs200 denominations, valued at Rs69.04 lakh from them. The accused Zahed Khan, Md Rayeesuddin, Md Anwar, and Md Muneer Ali belong to different parts of the city, DCP (South) Sai Chaitanya said.

Police said the notes were printed with ‘Children’s Bank of India’ and Zahed Khan along with his friends procured them from the absconding accused Khaja Naveeduddin of Quthbullapur.

Accordingly, they received the fake notes and came to Mochi Colony at Tadbund to exchange them in the shops in the area. Acting on a tip-off, police nabbed them and seized the counterfeit currency.
