Accused Hyderabad pulmonologist is repeat sexual offender

Hyderabad: City-based pulmonologist Dr B. Vijay Bhaskar, who was sentenced to rigorous imprisonment for 10 years for sexually assaulting a woman at his clinic in Secunderabad, was involved in a similar case.

Prior to sexually assaulting a 59-year-old woman in 2016, Dr Bhaskar allegedly committed the offence on a techie from West Marredpally who visited the clinic. While Dr Bhaskar was found guilty of sexually abusing the 59-year-old, the prosecution was unable to establish the charges in the techie's sexual assault case, leading to the doctor's acquittal in a trial court.

Subsequently, the techie challenged the trial court's ruling by filing a petition with the Telangana High Court.

Meanwhile, Dr Bhaskar is reportedly also filing a High Court petition to overturn his conviction in the 59-year-old’s sexual assault case, in which he was given a 10-year RI term.
