Hyderabad: 2 arrested for stealing bikes

Police seized the stolen bikes and remanded them to judicial custody.

Hyderabad: A graduate from Kukatpally and his friend who stole 10 bikes including seven Royal Enfield motorcycles in Cyberabad were arrested by the Kukatpally police. 

Police seized the stolen bikes and remanded them to judicial custody.

Patil Sandeep, 20, is a graduate who lives with his grandmother in his native place while his parents live in Kukatpally. Sandeep has a fantasy of riding Royal Enfield motorcycles. 

He used to visit his parents once in a month and spend a few days with them.

During his stay in the city, Sandeep along with his friend T. Shiva Shankar Goud, 19, an autorickshaw driver from Kukatpally, used to steal bikes. They used to move in Goud’s autorickshaw and choose places where vehicles were parked unattended. 

Sandeep used to break the locks of bikes and push them before hotwiring them without keys, while Goud used to follow in the autorickshaw.

Kukatpally police said Sandeep, who was earlier involved in three cases including two bike thefts at Kukatpally and SR Nagar and was arrested. The duo took the stolen bikes to Karnataka and sold them. Currently, he is wanted in 10 cases of automobile thefts in Cyberabad.
