Couple harassed near city pub, 2 held

Bengaluru: Two drunk men, who allegedly assaulted an Australian national and his Indian-origin wife when she objected to their behaviour, have been arrested by the Indira Nagar police.

The police arrested Ramesh Ankur (30) and Rohan Ramesh (32), both currently working in the US, and booked them under IPC sections 354 (sexual harassment), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 34 (common intention).

The incident occurred in the early hours of December 6 when the couple was standing outside Swing Pub in Indiranagar. Around 1.15 am, Ramesh and Rohan allegedly picked up a quarrel with the couple, who abused them.

Ramesh and Rohan, who got angry, slapped the woman and beat up her husband. When the woman tried to get away from them, Rohan allegedly touched her inappropriately.

The woman managed to escape from the two and informed the police, who arrested them.
