Chennai: 52-year-old gets 10-years RI for sexually abusing minor girl

Chennai: Special court for cases under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso Act, 2012, Chennai, on Friday sentenced a 52-year-old to undergo 10 years of RI on charge of sexually abusing a 9-year-old child four years ago.  The special judge also slapped a fine of Rs 10,000 on him.

According to prosecution, Ganesan was residing in MGR Nagar and was working in a hotel. He sexually abused a 9-year-old girl living near his residence. Based on a complaint from her mother, All Women Police, Ashok Nagar, registered a case and arrested Ganesan.  On completion of trial, special judge R.N. Manjula on Friday sentenced Ganesan to undergo RI for 10 years and imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on him.
