Vijayawada: A thirty-eight-year-old YSR Congress local leader, Desi Suresh, died as a vehicle overran him on the road on Saturday night, but his family suspects he was murdered following “personal disputes.”

The incident occurred in Kreesturajupuram area when Suresh went to a shop to buy ice cream for his son. A speeding car overran him. Suresh sustained grievous injuries and died immediately.

Suresh was having problems with Kanakanala Chowdesh over the installation of a flexi banner. Both Suresh and Chowdesh belong to the YSRC and Suresh works as the YSRC youth president of the fifth division in the city.

The family alleged that Chowdesh “committed the murder.”

Machavaram police registered a case under section 302 and a probe was initiated. The funeral of Suresh was performed on Sunday after a post-mortem.
