"The police surgeon told us that it was a clear case of suicide. So the body was handed over to relatives," Haripad circle inspector T. Manoj said after Saturday's autopsy. Krishnan, 63, was found hanging in his room and he was home alone as Radhamani at a private hospital in Ernakulam for a couple of days for treating her migraine.

Police delayed post-mortem for a day after relatives of Krishnan, settled in Nagaland, requested them to keep the body in a morgue till they reach Haripad on Saturday as they suspected foul play.  Earlier on Friday, the police had registered a case under Section 174 of Cr.PC for unnatural death. Krishnan was assisting his wife in her business with Sreevalsam Group. The tragedy comes after the Income Tax department raided the office of the group in Nagaland and unearthed assets worth Rs 400 crore.  The IT sleuths also raided the house of Radhamani here.
