Speeding Bike Hits Divider, Three Dead

Visakhapatnam: Three youngsters in their twenties died on Thursday evening when their bike hit a divider at Sector-II of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP) locality in Vizag city.

The deceased were identified as A Somesh (19), K Vasu (20) and K Raju (23), all were residents of Gangavaram locality in Vizag city and they were daily wage electricians.

Inspector of Police, Visakhapatnam Steel Plant police  V Srinivasa Rao said that the rider, Somesh, was moving at a high speed when he lost control of the bike and hit the divider and later hit an electrical pole leading to the deaths.  Over-speeding and negligent driving were the prime reason for the fatal accident, he added.

The police said that Somesh and Vasu died on the spot and K Raju succumbed to injuries while he was availing treatment at King George Hospital in the city.

In the impact, the rider Somesh sustained head injury despite wearing a helmet and was killed on the spot.

A case was registered, and the bodies were shifted for post-mortem
