Hyderabad: Man kills labourer for abusing sister

On Sunday at around 6 pm, he drank a lot of alcohol and went to visit his sister Kavitha.

Hyderabad: Angered by a drunk labourer using abusive language against his sister, a man killed the labourer at Meerpet on Sunday. 

Mogili Gopal, a 45-year-old daily wager lived in Rajiv Gruha Kalpa at Nandanavanam in Meerpet. His sister lived in the same block. On Sunday at around 6 pm, he drank a lot of alcohol and went to visit his sister Kavitha. But he knocked on someone else’s door. A woman identified as Anjali lived in that flat.

Meerpet inspector N. Yadaiah said that when Anjali’s brother Anand heard about this “he beat up Gopal and pushed him down the stairs.” 

Gopal received severe head injuries and suffered bleeding from the right ear. He was rushed to Osmania General Hospital in an ambulance, where doctors declared him brought dead.”

The inspector said that based on a complaint given by the deceased man’s sister, Kavitha, Anand has been charged with murder and remanded to judicial custody.
