Head constable held for beating wife in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The head constable of Gopalapuram police station was arrested by the Market police on Thursday, following a complaint by his wife alleging that he used to come home drunk and attack her.  

Sanjay Kumar, the head constable of Gopalapuram police station, was married to Saritha 13 years ago and the couple was blessed with two kids. “His wife said that on Wednesday, he beat her up brutally and she sustained serious injuries” said the inspector of Market station, Mattaiah. 

Based on her complaint the police booked a case under Section 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means) of the IPC.
