Tirupati: A grisly tragedy unfolded at the Madras bus stand centre in Nellore, Andhra Pradesh, as a middle-aged man, identified as Asif alias Ghora from Buchireddypalem, was brutally stabbed to death by a group of his friends.

Initial reports suggest that Asif, an auto rickshaw driver, arrived in Nellore on Monday morning with a group of companions. The situation turned sour as a seemingly trivial argument among them escalated into a violent confrontation. Eyewitnesses claim that the group viciously attacked Asif with knives, leaving him critically injured.

Alerted by the commotion, bystanders rushed to Asif's aid and called the police. Despite their efforts and ambulance transfer to Nellore Government General Hospital, Asif succumbed to his wounds, leaving his family and community in shock.

Dargamitta police have registered a case and launched a thorough investigation into the incident. Based on preliminary inquiries, it appears that the perpetrators were close acquaintances of Asif, sharing drinks with him earlier that day.
