Now, Anitha faces case under SC/ST act

Kumarambheem Asifabad: The Kagaznagar police on Sunday registered a case under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities Act) against Ms Anitha and 15 other forest staff following a complaint lodged by one Nayini Saroja of Sarasala.

Ms Saroja alleged that Ms Anitha and forest staff had abused them by taking their caste name.

Ms Anitha and other forest officials were attacked when they had gone to Sarasala village for plantation on a land under a compensatory afforestation scheme for Kaleshwaram lift irrigation project.

Video footage of the attack showed Ms Anitha climbing onto a tractor to escape from the attack by bamboo stick-wielding people.

The police arrested TRS MLA Koneru Konappa’s brother Krishna and his followers for assaulting the foresters. Ms  Anitha was later given police security.
