Hyderabad: Teacher, principal booked for scolding student

According to the police, Renuka's father, B Malle-sh, said that his daughter took this extreme step after being scolded by her teacher, Bharathi.

Hyderabad: The Cyberabad Police registered a case against the mathematics teacher of the Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya in Palamakula village, who allegedly scolded a 16-year-old girl for scoring less in the subject, forcing her to attempt suicide. 

The police said Bellam-konda Renuka who is studying in class 10 jumped off the school building on Sunday evening. She is admitted to a nearby hospital and is said to be out of danger. Renuka sustained injuries on her legs.

According to the police, Renuka’s father, B Malle-sh, said that his daughter took this extreme step after being scolded by her teacher, Bharathi. A case is booked against Ms Bharathi and a hunt is on to trace her, said an investigating official.
