Polluted water supplied in Bisleri cans near Kapra Lake
Bodapati Jyothi said Maruthi provision stores has not taken any action despite the matter being brought to notice of the owner
HYDERABAD: A resident of Lake View Colony has complained to the Kushaiguda police that a provision store near Kapra Lake is selling contaminated water to consumers in Bisleri cans.
In her complaint to police, the resident, Bodapati Jyothi, said the Maruthi provision stores has not taken any action despite the matter being brought to notice of the owner. The water is supplied by distributors S. Srinivas and S. Madhavan of ECIL.
Jyothi said that when she approached the police, water distributors from ECIL came to the police station. Instead of rectifying the problem, they started getting angry with her for complaining to the police.
“The plastic cans have company label of Bisleri. Yet, there are worms and dust in the cans,” Jyoti underlined.
Residents of the area say there is a problem at the water filling station. When they approached Bisleri officials, the latter promised to look into the problem and rectify it.
Kushaiguda police too have taken the written complaint. They have asked the water distributors and Bisleri company officials to rectify the problem.
