Hoax bomb threat at Nellore railway station

Nellore: Nellore railway station found itself at the centre of a security scare when an unidentified individual made a call on Tuesday that a bomb had been planted on Platform No. 1.

This led to bomb squad, Santapet police, government railway police (GRP), railway protection force (RPF) and station officials making a thorough check of the entire railway station complex. A dog squad was also deployed to locate any potential explosives or suspicious items. After several hours of thorough searching, it was determined that the bomb threat was a hoax.

Speaking about the incident, a senior railway official said, "We take any threat to the safety of our passengers and staff very seriously. In coordination with local police and security forces, we thoroughly checked the station and established that there is no real danger." Police are now trying the identity and arrest the individual responsible for the hoax bomb threat.
