Hyderabad: Thief falls to death from 3rd floor in bid to escape

In fear of getting caught, the man let go of his grip and fell on the road and was bleeding.

Hyderabad: A 35-year-old man died on monday after falling off the third floor of a building in Durga Nagar, Puppalaguda, Narsingi, in his attempt to escape.

B. Mahesh, 36, a private employee hailing from Kothagudem district, has been living with his wife in a rented house on the third floor of a building in Durga Nagar. In order to escape the excessive heat that night, the couple decided to sleep on the terrace.  

Around 11.30 pm that night, the couple came downstairs. However, when Mahesh attempted to open the door to his apartment, he found that it had been latched from inside. He also noticed that a light had been turned on inside the house. Subsequently, he went to the corridor to peek into his house from a window and, to his surprise, found a stranger hanging off the parapet.

In fear of getting caught, the man let go of his grip and fell on the road and was bleeding. By the time the police team reached the spot, the man died.

“The man has been was identified as Balu, 35, who used to work for the owner of the house. Rs 6,000 in cash and a wristwatch belonging to Mahesh were recovered from him,” an official at Narsingi police station said.
