PEDDAPALLI: A team of experts in forensic medicine will conduct a re-postmortem on the body of Manthani Madhukar’s body on April 7 after exhuming it. Madhukar's body was buried in Khanapur in Manthani mandal. According to the Ramagundam police commissionerate, the re-postmortem will be performed by forensic medical experts from Kakatiya Medical College.
Police officials took the decision to go in for a re-postmortem following allegations by Madhukar's family and Dalit organisations that he was murdered by an upper caste family because he was having a love affair with their daughter.

The family members alleged that the police, led by Manthani circle inspector A. Prabhakar, had painted the death of the youth as a suicide. Madhukar’s body was found on the outskirts of Khanapur in Manthani mandal on March 14. Sindhu Sarma, assistant commissioner of police, Peddapalli, was appointed as an inquiry officer and began investigations. Ramagudam police commissioner Vikram Jeet Duggal issued orders on Wednesday shifting Manthani circle inspector Prabhakar to the vacant reserve and attached him to the commissionerate. Natesh was posted as the new circle inspector.

Mr Natesh conducted raids on the houses of the accused and seized their cellphones and checked calllist details. Manthani police may take the accused for interrogation. On Tuesday, Mr Duggal visited Khanapur and interacted with the family members of Madhukar and collected details. He visited the spot  where the body was found.
