 Hyderabad: The TS Anti Narcotics Bureau (TSNAB) along with the Jubilee Hills police arrested on Bathula Jagadeesh Reddy, 30, and seized RS 3 lakh worth hash oil from his possession. The contraband was packed in 82 five-ml bottles. He had been procuring the drug from Alluri Sitaramaju district for the past year and selling it in Hyderabad, a press release issued by TSNAB SP G.Chakravarthy said. The accused was a hosteller and pursuing a tech course.

East Zone Crime Team Nabs Phone Snatcher Targeting Morning Walkers

The east zone CCS crime team arrested one Mohd. Abdullah and recovered three cellphones that he had snatched, worth Rs 40,000. He used to target morning walkers. Abdullah, with a record in with the Malakpet, Chaderghat and Saroornagar police, was handed over to the Chaderghat police.

 Traffic Police Conduct Counselling for Drunk Drivers, Emphasise on Road Safety

The city traffic police conducted a counselling session at the Traffic Training Institute in Goshamahal for over 100 drunk drivers and their family members.

Addressing the session, Sudheer Babu, additional commissioner, said 1,53,947 people had died in road accidents, the highest in the world. Most of these accidents involved young people aged between 20 and 35 years.

He said 90 per cent of road accidents were the result of sleeplessness, speeding, drunken driving, driving on the wrong side, and ignoring helmets and seat belts. Pedestrians are among the most vulnerable road users.

He said drivers must feel responsible for their own family members and road users and avoid driving while drunk.
