Lucknow: In a shocking video clip that has gone viral on the social media, a class 8 student is seen operating upon a patient in a private hospital in Shamli district.

A compounder is first seen administering anaesthesia to the patient and the boy, whose father owns the Aryan Hospital, is seen operating.

ACMO Shamli Ashok Kumar Handa said that this is not the first time the hospital has figured in a controversy.

"In a viral video, it can be seen there are people present in operation theatre, who are not authorised to be there and a nurse can also be seen giving anaesthesia to the patient", he said.

According to sources, the Aryan Hospital has been sealed thrice earlier for irregularities, but managed to reopen due to the owner's 'political clout'.

Sources further said that at least 24 patients have died in the hospital in the last one year, and families of three of them have even filed FIRs against the hospital under IPC Section 304 for culpable homicide not amounting to murder.
