Former CPM secretary P Sasi's brother held for job fraud

Satheesan allegedly offered jobs at Kannur airport, other public limited institutions.

Kozhikode: The police on Friday arrested P.  Satheesan, son of Krishnan of Mavilayi, for allegedly cheating youngsters  by offering them jobs at Kannur airport and other public limited institutions. The accused is the brother of former CPM Kannur district secretary P.  Sasi. He was arrested on a complaint  filed by  Madhuri,   wife of Sreedharan of Feroke,  Kozhikode. According to the complaint,  she gave  Rs 2 lakh to Satheesan who  offered her a job in D-Stead, a  public limited company,  eight months back.

He had also collected  an equal sum  from Prathibha, wife of Madhuri's brother. When Madhuri asked him about the delay, Satheesan  allegedly threatened her, according to the complaint.  The police slapped sections 420 (cheating)  and 506 (1) threatening , against the accused.  Satheesan will be produced  in the  court on Saturday. The police registered his  arrest after  an  hour-long interrogation and orders from the top.

Satheesan had extracted money from many others  ranging from Rs 10,000 to several  lakhs, it is alleged.   He had  claimed that he had direct links with the chief minister, ministers and other political leaders. Earlier,  in many other similar cases,  Mr  P. Sasi and ministers had denied any links  with Satheesan.
