Rs 10 lakh for Jishamol's kin announced

The family bought five cents of land at Muttakuzha panchayat.

Thiruvananthapuram: The government on Wednesday decided to grant Rs 10 lakh as compensation to the family of Jishamol who was murdered in Perumbavur. It also decided to give a government job to the  victim’s sister in Ernakulam district.

The district Collector will coordinate offers of assistance from various quarters for building a house for the victim’s family. The CM directed the chief secretary to take steps after seeking permission from Election Commission.

Meanwhile, the CM’s office stated that Rs 3.75 lakh was sanctioned to Jishamol’s mother Rajeshwari in 2014-15 for buying land and building a house. The family bought five cents of land at Muttakuzha panchayat. They were also included in a special category and granted Rs 3 lakh.
