Court to monitor Wadakkanchery gang rape case

Court sanctions plea of the alleged victim, directs ACP G. Poonguzhali to file report.

Thrissur: The police inquiry into the Wadakkanchery gang rape case will be monitored by the magistrate court from now on. Wadakkanchery First Class Magistrate Court judge K.L. Sreedevi sanctioned the plea of the alleged victim filed in this regard and directed the special investigation team led by ACP G. Poonguzhali to file a report before the court  every 10 days.

The court also asked the SIT to consider all the complaints of the victim and  find out the place of occurrence of the crime and the vehicle in which she was taken to the place of the crime by the accused persons, including CPM councillor P.N. Jayanthan and three others.
