Thrissur: The inquiry into the case registered by Chalakudy Police on the complaint of a teenage girl being trapped by a six racket active in Thrissur and Malappuram districts has revealed that the victim was tortured for nearly six months and around 30 persons are involved in the crime.
According to Chalakudy DySP C. R. Santosh, the 19-year-old victim was first contacted online in January this year by the main accused Chirayath Chandramohan of Vadanappally.
After offering to make her a model, he took her to a lodge in Athani near here with the help of a couple who were part of a sex racket.
At the lodge, using hidden cameras, they took her nude pictures and later used to blackmail her to have sex with others.
The DYSP who is leading a 13-member investigation team said they had arrested six people including two women.
One of them, Sindhu, a native of Vettilappara near Athirappilly, took the victim to her house near Potta, Chalakudy, where she was tortured.
Investigation officers said she revealed her ordeal when her parents took her for counselling as she was mentally and physically unwell.
According to police, the victim was taken to different places during the day time and her parents were not aware of the torture.
