Hyderabad: Two arrested for stealing, booty recovered

Hyderabad: Two notorious automobile thieves, an auto driver, and a painter were arrested by the Cyberabad police under Raidurgam and Kukatpally police stations on Wednesday. 

At Raidurgam, the police arrested one Pilli Shiva Kumar, 40, an auto driver involved in two theft cases. The accused Shiva Kumar, an illiterate, committed two offences in Cyberabad limits, where he stole a water tanker parked on the roadside using a false key at Raidurgam.

On Tuesday evening, Shiva Kumar was caught at Raidurgam dargah when he was travelling on a bike that was stolen at Rajendranagar. Based on his confession, the police seized two bikes and the water tanker, all worth Rs 6 lakh from him and remanded him to judicial custody on Wednesday.

In another incident at Kukatpally, a 22-year-old painter, also an ex-convict, was arrested for stealing a bike, two autos, centring boxes and water motors in Cyberabad and Rachakonda limits.

Kukatpally ACP B. Surendar Rao said that Parvez Khan, 22, was convicted for being involved in three theft cases in Cyberabad in early 2018. After coming out of jail, he again stole a bike, 35 centering boxes, three water motors and an auto from Kukatpally and a bike from Kushaiguda.

“Parvez is a habitual offender and is addicted to vices. As he could not meet the lavish expenses he incurred, he resorted to stealing. He was arrested on Wednesday and the police recovered the stolen property,” said ACP Rao.
