Hyderabad: 11 Arrested in Hookah Parlour Raid

The sluthes of the west zone task force raided a hookah parlour in Panjagutta and booked 11 persons including the owner and 10 consumers under COPTA Act.

Hyderabad: The West Zone task force has raided a hookah parlour in Panjagutta and arrested 11 persons including the owner and 10 customers.
 
The task force led by inspector Mohammed  Khaleel Pasha, sub-inspector N Ranjit Kumar on a reliable tip-off raided an unnamed Hookah parlour at AR Plaza, Ameerpet, Panjagutta police station limits, on Sunday night.

The parlour owner Mohd Saleem (33), a resident of Sultan Nagar, Erragadda  was operating the parlour without a display board.

The accused Saleem was illegally running the parlour during late nights and early hours on the weekends, Khaleel Pasha, task force inspector said.

The police seized 15 -Hookah pots along with pipes, 11 different flavours, 12 small boxes, 10-Hookah Pipes, 40 filters, 5-tongs , aluminium foils, coal heater and other materials.

The accused have been booked under the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Act (COPTA) and have been handed over to Panjagutta police for further investigation.
