2 more held in Muhammed Aslam murder
Police say they followed Aslam in Jithin's car and were witnesses to the murder
KOZHIKODE: Two more people were arrested on Saturday in connection with the murder of IUML worker Muhammed Aslam in Nadapuram. The number of people arrested in the murder case has now reached five. Jithin (23), Nellikulathi house, Iringannur, Edachery, near Nadapuram and Shaji (28), Paithilott house, Velloor, Purameri were taken into custody by a team of police led by Kuttiady CI T. Sajeevan and their arrest was recorded on Saturday.
Both of them were produced before Nadapuram judicial first class magistrate court. Jithin and Shaji were friends of Rameesh, who was arrested earlier. Rameesh’s arrest led to the custody of the duo. Three of them are believed to have guided the killers of Aslam, by giving them details of his movement.
Police say they followed Aslam in Jithin’s car and were witnesses to the murder. After the killers left the spot, this trio stayed back to ensure that Aslam would succumb to his wounds. There are also unconfirmed reports that one of the travellers in the Innova car, which the killers used, has also been netted.
