Telangana: Farmer ends life over debt

He went to his field on Thursday morning, and committed suicide in the afternoon.

Hyderabad: A farmer,  Kurma Bommabalamallu, 45, ended his life due to debts in Medak district on Thursday. Police said Bommabalamallu woned 1.5 acres in Tippanagundla in Nizampet mandal. He had performed his elder daughter’s marriage three years ago, and built a house last year. In addition, he lost his crop which pushed him further into debt.

He went to his field on Thursday morning, and committed suicide in the afternoon. Farmers from neighboring fields, who noticed his body having informed his family. Based on a complaint from his wife Shyamala, case of suspicious death case was registered. He is survived by wife, two sons and a daughter.
