Chennai: Chennai police were able to arrest two men who robbed a woman at knifepoint at a beauty parlour in Kolathur after combing through CCTV footage. The men, identified as Karthik, 30, of Kannigapuram, in Pulianthope, and Abbas, 32, of Thiru-vi-ka Nagar robbed Savithri, 37, who runs a beauty parlour at Ganesh Nagar on February 25.

Four men, including the two arrested, had entered the parlour at 4.30 pm wielding knives and asked her to hand over all the cash she possessed. The gang, who had covered their faces to conceal their identity, also snatched Savithri's gold chain and bracelet, and chains of two other workers in the parlour. They also took away six cell phones, a police source said.

The Kolathur police, to whom Savithri had filed a complaint combed through CCTV footage and found that the four men had come on two bikes. They were then able to track them through the bike number plates.  The search is now on for the other two men, a police officer said.
