HYDERABAD: Two persons Sheela Parasuramulu and Sheela Yellaiah, accused of killing their relative Sheela Nagaraju at Ensanpalli of Siddipet district in 2017 have been sentenced to life imprisonment.

The Principal District and Sessions Judge at Siddipet who delivered the judgement on Friday also imposed a fine of Rs 2,000 each on them.

Nagaraju was killed a week before his marriage when he left home to distribute wedding cards. The accused killed him, tied his limbs and dumped his body in an agricultural well in the village. The murder came to light after Nagaraju’s father started searching for him and found his mobile phone, footwear and bicycle near the well.

On suspicion when villagers searched in the well, his body with his hands and legs tied with a rope was recovered. Inquiries revealed that the accused had killed Nagaraju, as Yellaiah was angry with Nagaraju that his daughter left her husband and ran away with another person with support from Nagaraju.

During the trial, the Principal District and Sessions Judge T Raghuram examined the evidence, witnesses and found the duo guilty of killing Nagaraju and awarded life sentence to them.
