Hyderabad: Abids police on Wednesday arrested 10 employees of Grand Hotel, accused of confining and brutally attacking eight customers, including two women, for complaining that they were served uncooked biryani late December 31 night.

Suneet Singh, Sony Singh, Swati Singh, Vikas Singh, Mahesh Singh, Ashish Singh Deepti Singh and Kailash Singh came to the hotel for dinner after New Year revelry.

Suneeth Singh complained that the mutton in the biryani was not properly cooked and sought a replacement. The waiter, presuming that they were all drunk, returned after some time with the same dishes. The guests decided to have dinner at home but the management insisted that they clear the bill, police said.
After they complained to the manager and refused to pay for the biryani, the staff armed with utensils from the kitchen attacked them after pulling down the shutters and badly attacked them. Five of them, including two women, were injured.

“Following the complaint, we went through the CCTV footage, identified the attackers and arrested four waiters,” T. Narsimha Raju, inspector of Abids police station said. Meanwhile, six others were arrested on Wednesday.

They have been booked under section 324, 504 and 509 of IPC and produced before the court.
