Miyapur police arrests builder for flouting building rules

On August 26, GHMC officials from the Chandanagar town planning cell filed a case against the builder.

Police arrested a 28-year-old man, a security guard in connection with the case.

Hyderabad: The MD of Sree Thirumala Infra Pvt Ltd, J. Prakash Chowdary, was arrested by Miyapur police for dangerous cellar excavation that endangered the lives of people living in a neighbouring apartment complex. Sree Thirumala Infra is constructing a multi-storied building. The arrested man was remanded to custody. 

Sree Thirumala Infra Pvt Ltd MD J. Prakash Chowdary took up  construction of a building, excavated earth for three cellars at a depth of 30 feet and obstructed the natural flow of a drain without taking any precautionary measures. This dangerous digging endangered the lives of people in a neighbouring apartment complex and also broke GHMC instructions.  

On August 26, GHMC officials from the Chandanagar town planning cell filed a case against the builder. In the complaint, GHMC alleged that the builder had excavated to a depth of 30 feet without taking precautionary steps resulting  in erosion of soil which endangered a neighbouring apartment complex. The GHMC took up the case following a complaint filed by Satyanarayana Enclave Flat Owners Welfare Federation.
