Notorious thief held by Siddipet police, gold seized

Police arrested the three and recovered 60 tolas of gold, 150 tolas of silver worth over Rs 4.5 lakh from them.

As a big relief to the residents of RK Puram and Devinagar, the Neredmet police on Saturday swung into action and arrested one person from the illegal piggery involved in extracting oil from pig wastes.

Hyderabad: Siddipet police arrested a notorious thief and his two associates on Monday and recovered a huge quantity of gold and silver articles from them. The suspects are V. Bikshapathi, 29, B. Raju, 27, and G. Gopal, 27. Siddipet police commissioner Shiva Kumar said that Bikshapathi was working as a labourer and started committing thefts and used the money for luxuries.

On Monday while he was proceeding towards Kamareddy to sell stolen goods, the crime team nabbed him and he admitted that he was involved in thefts.

“He is involved in 17 cases including nine in Siddipet, four in Kamareddy, three in Rajanna Siricilla district and one in Medak district,” the commissioner said. He used to sell the stolen property to his aides Raju and Gopal for less prices and spend the money on luxuries.

Police arrested the three and recovered 60 tolas of gold, 150 tolas of silver worth over Rs 4.5 lakh from them. They were remanded.
