HYDERABAD: City police have sought legal opinion on the comments made by Goshamahal MLA T. Raja Singh during the Sriram Navami Shobha Yata on Thursday night.

A senior police official told Deccan Chronicle that they were looking into the contents of Singh’s speech and have sought a legal opinion. They are also verifying if the contents of the speech are in any way violating High Court directions. “Accordingly, we would proceed,” the official said.

Addressing the rally, Singh said temples would soon come up in Mathura and Kashi, like the grand Ram temple at Ayodhya. While administering a resolution to make India a Hindu rashtra, he also commented about love jihad while targeting a particular community.

Incidentally, flexis with pictures of Nathuram Godse were displayed during the shobha yatra. Videos of the speech have gone viral on social media platforms.
