Couple Found Dead in Parked Car in MP; Murder, Suicide Angles Probed
A man and a woman were found dead with gunshot, burn and throat injuries inside a parked car in Ashoknagar, with police recovering a pistol, axe and cutter from the vehicle.
A young couple was found dead inside a parked car with multiple injuries in Madhya Pradesh's Ashoknagar district on Thursday, prompting police to investigate both murder and suicide angles.
The deceased were identified as Ritik Soni and Muskan, both residents of Ashoknagar. According to police, Ritik was found in the driver's seat with a bullet wound to his head and burn injuries on his face, while Muskan was seated beside him with her throat slit.
Muskan's family told police that she had left home on Wednesday afternoon to go to the gym but failed to return. After repeated attempts to contact her proved unsuccessful, the family lodged a missing person complaint at the Kotwali police station.
Ritik's family informed police that he had returned to Ashoknagar from Indore around 15 days ago.
"When I reached the spot early in the morning, my son's body was inside the car," Ritik's father, Rakesh Soni, said, demanding a fair and impartial investigation.
Police said forensic experts examined the crime scene and collected evidence. A pistol, a blood-stained axe and a cutter were recovered from inside the vehicle. Three mobile phones were also found about 50 feet away from the car.
Investigators are analysing the forensic evidence and questioning family members and acquaintances to determine the sequence of events. Police said all possible angles, including murder and suicide, are being examined.
Further investigation is underway.
